A recording featuring a collection of songs by Samira Tawfiq. Samira Tawfiq (1935) is a Lebanese singer born in the Syrian province of Sweida to an Armenian family. Her singing talent emerged at the age of seven and she began performing in Beirut's family theatres at the age of thirteen. After leaving Beirut in the early 1960s, she was adopted by Jordan's official radio station with a song called Ben Al Dawali which She performed live. She was famous for singing in the Bedouin dialect, poets and composers from Lebanon, Syria and Jordan gave her many songs, including Muhammad Mohsen, Elias Rahbani, Melhem Barakat and Philemon Wehbe, which followed and spread in Lebanon and Arab countries, including Hisnak Ya Zain and Asmar Khafif Al Rouh by Tawfiq Al Nimri, which was the beginning of her fame. Samira Tawfiq has participated in several series and films as an actress and singer in front of great artists and has given many concerts all over the world and has won bronze and gold keys for several countries and is a member of the Syndicate of Professional Artists in Lebanon.
