More Info
This cassette includes a selection of songs by Egyptian singer Randa Al Sebky, taken from two of her albums: Min Qaddi and Mesh Mehtagalak. The songs are accompanied by the band of renowned artist Hamid Al Sha'eri, who also composed and arranged these works. Side one contains songs from the album Min Qaddi which dates back to 1989, while side two features songs from the album Mesh Mehtagalak, which was released in 1990. Randa Al Sebky is an Egyptian pop singer who rose to prominence during the late 1980s and early 1990s, achieving notable fame during that period. She collaborated with Hamid Al Shaeri on the two albums featured on this cassette. Hamid Al Sha'eri, a pioneering composer of the 1980s generation, is credited with discovering an entire generation of artists, many of whom went on to become stars in Egypt and across the Arab world. Al Sha'eri was born in Benghazi, Libya, in 1961. His musical talent was first recognized by his mother, who encouraged him by providing instruments like the keyboard and xylophone. Tragically, she passed away when he was just thirteen years old. Despite his passion for music, Al Shaeri faced rejection from his father, and was unable to continue his musical pursuits in Libya. He moved to Egypt in order to embark on his pursuit into the world of music.
