Nour Mhanna was born in Aleppo governorate in 1966. Influenced by his cultural environment, he began his singing career performing Aleppan Qudud and traditional Arabic songs. Nour Mhanna emphasized the importance of grounding creativity in a deep understanding of the past, earning recognition for his revivals of classic works, such as his rendition of Syrian artist Souad Mohammed's song Wahashitni. In addition to reviving traditional songs, he produced many original works, including Wala Marra Kenna Sawa (We Were Never Together), composed by musician Melhem Barakat, as well as Ana Eini Leek (My Eyes Are For You), which established his distinctive approach to contemporary traditional singing. Nour Mhanna’s performances on this tape are accompanied by Aleppan qudud and Syrian mawals, which he delivers with a powerful and melodious voice — qualities that underscore his remarkable success in Syria and the region as a performer of traditional Syrian music.
