More Info
A compilation of songs from Syrian artist Fahed Ballan (1933-1997). Emerging from the mountainous town of Suweida, Syria, Fahed Ballan was a renowned singer who captivated audiences with his majestic mountain voice. His music resonated across the Arab world, earning him a place among the region's most celebrated vocalists. In the late 1950s, Ballan moved to Damascus, where he joined the radio chorus, enriching the Arabic music scene with his exceptional talent. His contributions extended beyond his homeland, as he traveled to Egypt, carrying with him his creative works recorded by Damascus Radio, to share them with the Egyptian audience. Ballan's path crossed with the brilliant composer Abd Al Fattah Sukkar, a mastermind behind the Syrian and Arabic music scene. Sukkar played a pivotal role in shaping Ballan's artistry, propelling him to stardom. Sakr's compositions, including timeless classics such as Wa Ashrah Laha, Jass Al Tabib, and Larkab Haddak Ya Al Motor, cemented Ballan's status as one of Syria's most distinguished singers and one of the top ten vocalists in the Arab world.
