A recording of artist Rifaat al-Hamawi performing some folk songs with the accompaniment of the Rababa at a local wedding. Hailing from the village of Tal Jadid in rural Salamiya, south of Hama, Rifaat is known for his beautiful voice. He learned to play the rababa due to his village's close proximity to Bedouin areas. The cassette is part of a collection curated by Ghassan Qaddour, a dedicated historical researcher who has devoted his efforts to collecting, documenting, and preserving the rich tangible and intangible folklore of the Hama governorate.
