More Info

A cassette recording of a private concert by the artist Burjas Mohammad Al-Jurf (born 1936). Al-Jurf was a folk singer from the city of Salamiyah, renowned for singing the Salamiyah-style Attaba and playing the rebab, earning him the title "King of the Rebab." He was influenced by his father, who was his role model in both playing and singing. In his early youth, Al-Jurf's singing became closely associated with wedding celebrations, where his powerful voice and skill with the rebab earned him widespread acclaim.
