More Info
A collection of songs by artist Yassin Al-Ashiq (1927-2011) accompanied by the oud, riq, and tablah. Yassin Al-Ashiq began playing the violin under the supervision of Sami Al-Shawa and Elias Funoun. He was the head of the Syrian Radio and Television Band for 40 years and one of the founders of Syrian Radio in 1947. Al-Ashiq worked with the artist Sabah Fakhri for forty years, and was one of the main players in Mary Jubran's band. He composed many songs for Najah Salam, Dalila Al-Tunisia, Fahd Ballan and Nihad Tarabay. He also collaborated with Farid Al-Atarache, the singer Asmahan, and Nour Al-Huda. Yassin formed a musical team with Mouhammad Abd Al-Karim (known as the 'Amir of Bouzouk'), who used to write down his melodies, play them, and present them to singers such as Najah Salam and Souad Mouhammad, including the melody of the song Raqqat Hosnak We Dalalek.
