A collection of songs by Adib Al-Dayikh (1938-2001) Mohammad Adib Al-Dayikh (Adib Al-Dayikh) was a highly regarded vocalist and reciter of poetry, known for elevating and spreading heritage throughout the Arab world and beyond. He was the recipient of several prestigious medals and earned titles such as Singer of Kings - Zaryab - Singer of Lovers - and the Ambassador of Song. Al-Dayikh grew up immersed in Sufi and Ghazal poetry, and began his artistic life incorporating these traditions at an early age in his hometown of Aleppo. His father, reciter Sheikh Muhammad Al-Dayikh of Aleppo had bestowed upon him the principles of speech, memorization, and the seven recitations of the Holy Qur’an, as well as rituals and recitation according to the traditions of Aleppo and Egypt at the time. The young Al-Dayikh was soon considered to be a marvel in the city of Aleppo. He memorized about ten thousand verses of poetry by the time he was fifteen years old, and included these poems in his own collection, which he called The Great Treasure, which included thousands of poems from the pre-Islamic, Umayyad, and Abbasid eras to the present era.
