More Info
A 1990s wedding party performed by Hama singer Issa Naous, combining all the features of popular Syrian shaabi music from that period, from the hybrid arrangement that combines oud and keyboards, to the accompaniment of a male chorus, lyrics that stand at an equal distance from pop and folk, and a skilled singer capable of performing different sub-genres of Syrian shaabi. Issa Naous hails from the town of Deir Shamil in western rural Hama. He began his career performing Mawwals and Ataba with a warm, sweet voice at private parties and weddings, before recording and releasing his own songs and albums, including "La Tenghashi Ya Flaneh" which became a cornerstone of Syrian folk archive and attracted millions of listens online, helping Issa achieve considerable fame that made him sought after to perform at music festivals in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq.
