More Info

This cassette features s a delightful cocktail of children's songs that a generation of Levantine children grew up with during the eighties, nineties, and early 2000s, including Kullon Andon Sayarat (Everyone Has Cars) and Ammi Bu Masoud (Uncle Bu Masoud). The album reflects Lebanon’s early influence on children’s music in the region, before the rise of Syrian influence in the 2000s with the spread of Spacetoon TV. Some of the tape's songs were written by Lebanese poet and songwriter Rafic Anis Rouhana, who wrote for Julia Boutros and Majida Al Roumi among others. The songs were composed by the late Lebanese musician Emil Deeb, who left Lebanon for Canada during the civil war and lived there for the rest of his five decades. Emil composed many musical works, collaborated frequently with Lebanese radio, and published books on music education in Arabic.
