More Info

This tape brings together 13 Lebanese pop songs from the eighties by thirteen different singers, all male. Despite the tape's title suggesting it's a collection of danceable romantic songs, both words "danceable" and "romantic" have changed their meaning with time, and with the emergence of the new generation of Lebanese pop and its female stars starting from the nineties, making this tape's songs seem closer to folklore than romance, lacking the personal emotional singing that later dominated, and closer to cultural events than dance floors, lacking the fast and flashy electronic rhythms that became part of Lebanese dance pop's DNA today.
