More Info
A fast-paced tape with elegant arrangements by iconic Kurdish singer Sa'id Kabari, featuring upbeat dance songs with pulsing rhythms and free-flowing vocals. Born in 1956 in the village of Bezara in rural Hassake, Sa'id Kabari began performing and professionally pursuing Kurdish music since his teenage years, after losing his sight as a child. He crafted his own bozouk instrument and practiced until he mastered it, then established relationships with several Kurdish poets like Yousef Barazi and sang their poems. His song Ay Bulbuli Dilshad became a widely popular anthem in Kurdish communities. He faced persecution in Syria and Iraq for performing Kurdish patriotic and nationalist songs, moving between several countries fleeing persecution until he settled in Erbil in Iraq's Kurdistan Region, where he passed away in 2020 after battling cancer, leaving behind an artistic journey that spanned half a century.
