An hour of Horzi and Shekhani music by Kurdish singer Adnan Sa'id, whose powerful and warm voice resonates in mawal-like songs that draw from the diverse musical heritage of the Jazeera region. He is accompanied by a skilled keyboards player who exemplifies how Kurdish musicians have innovatively adapted the keyboard to reflect the textures and rhythms of their musical heritage. Adnan Sa'id hails from the city of Qamishli in Syria's Hassake governorate, where he still lives and performs to this day. He is considered one of the most prominent active Kurdish singers today, with around 200,000 followers on social media platforms, while his songs on YouTube have garnered more than 13 million listens.
