More Info
One of many tapes that showcase the collaboration between singer Wafik Habib and keyboardist Talal Al-Daour. The duo gradually rose to fame at the end of the 1990s and the beginning of the millennium, and went from performing wedding parties in small Syrian villages, to each of them touring and performing around the world in the present day. In his few known media statements, Al-Daour has said he considers himself one of the pioneers that spread Syrian shaabi music to a wider audience through his presentation and sound on the keyboard. He has also discussed that the difficulty in playing shaabi music lies in the constant need to improvise and conjure new melodies live during concerts.
