More Info

An energetic studio album from the early 1990s featuring Syrian singer and actor Wadah Shibli with the Aleppo Club Band. Wadah Shibli (1973-2016) was a beloved Syrian singer and actor born in Aleppo. He grew up immersing in the sounds of Arabic music icons such as Abdel Halim Hafez, Warda, and Sabah Fakhri. Under the guidance of renowned Syrian artists such as Abdul Qader Hajjar, he honed his musical skills. He began his artistic career on the stages of the University of Aleppo, where he played concerts and also acted in various productions, including a play directed by Hammam Hout. During this time, Shibli was encouraged to join the prestigious Aleppo Family Club's musical group. He quickly won over the club's elite members with his charming presence and emotive performances, musical expression and his original compositions, Shabli became a sought-after entertainer for exclusive soirées and private events among Aleppo's affluent families. Departing the club after a decade, he transitioned to focus on private concerts for notable figures worldwide, distinguishing himself as a singer who eschewed traditional venues in favor of intimate performances tailored to his discerning audience. In 1996, Shibli participated in the Aleppo program Stars of Tarab as well as the Syrian Song Festival, where he won the Golden Ornina Award for Best Song in 1997. Shibli also acted in television series such as Hay Al-Mazar and Al-Aris Al-Halabi. Sadly, he died from a heart attack at the age of 43 in Damascus.
