An elegant and danceable tape by the 4M (Four M) Band, which included Egyptian actor and musician Ezzat Abou Aouf and his four sisters. The album serves as a late testament to Egypt's 1980s, era of music groups with its hybrid sound between Eastern and Western styles, and its light, easily hummable melodies. Born in Cairo in 1948, Ezzat Abou Aouf was one of the most prominent figures in contemporary Egyptian cultural life. He was a member of the 1960s Egyptian rock group Les Petits Chats. He later joined the Black Coats group, before uniting with his four sisters in the late seventies to found 4M. He entered the field of acting later in life, in 1992, where he achieved tremendous success in both cinema and television, starring in over 100 films. His rich cultural life included directing the Cairo Film Festival for seven years starting in 2006, and ensuring its continuation during political unrest in Egypt. He passed away in 2019, following the death of his wife Fatima in 2012.
