Sanaa al-Hussein is one of a large group of singers who became famous for singing in the many night clubs of Homs in the latter part of the 20th century. Her parties began to be recorded and issued on cassettes at the beginning of the 2000s, and she still sings and releases covers of many shaabi songs to this day.
