Hassan Adeeb (1923 - 1981) was a distinguished reciter and singer known for his recitations of the Holy Quran and religious chants. Despite losing his sight early in life, he excelled in music, learning to play the oud, percussion, and vocal solfège. Adeeb formed a prominent musical group with Saeed Farhat, featuring top musicians in Damascus. In the 1950s, he memorized the Quran under Sheikh Hussein Khattab and served as a muezzin and chanter at the Grand Mosque of Kafr Sousa. Later, he led the Muslim Al-Bitar group, becoming a central figure in religious chanting alongside Tawfiq Al-Munjid and Saeed Farhat. Adeeb's legacy includes numerous recordings made for Damascus and Amman radio, as well as his appearances on Syrian television.
