A Collection Of Muwashahat and Adwar sung by Mary Jubran (1911–1956). A Syrian soprano singer born in Beirut, Mary Jubran was known for her talents of improvisation and interpretation of classical forms of singing, Dawr and Muwashshah. As a young child, she moved with her family from Beirut to Damascus to flee events taking place in Lebanon during the First World War. In Syria, Jubran achieved remarkable success due to her melodious voice and ability to capture emotion, which placed her at the forefront of female singers from her generation.
