In this rare appearance of Manbiji record label Sawt Al Forat in our archive, we listen to a live recording from a private celebration for a newborn, performed by Manbiji singer Hamza Al Khalil accompanied by young singer Ata Al Furati at a restaurant near the Midanki waterfalls adjacent to Afrin. The recording is distinguished by an unusual ambient synthesizer sound not common in Syrian shaabi music, and a warm electronic buzuq accompanying Hamza Al Khalil's singing of deliberately paced poems and attaba songs.
