More Info

With an acoustic arrangement and unhurried rhythm, Hussein Al Hasan performs a series of attaba and souaihly in a tarab mood. The singer recites his words like a chant, turning each phrase into a small song, and gives us a dense melodic performance that requires immersive listening. A native of Qamishli, Hussein Al Hasan was active in the Syrian shaabi scene in the Syrian Jazira region during the nineties, when he became one of the region's most prominent singers of that era alongside names like Omar Suleiman and Ahmad Al Abd, before gradually from the scene by the mid-2000s, it becomes difficult to find any recordings of his after 2007.
