More Info
Adiba is an Iraqi artist from the city of Baqubah. She comes from the 1980s generation of golden artists in Iraq at the time, which included artists such as Maidah Nuzha and Sajida Obeid.
Adiba’s artistic activity began at a young age when she was recognized for the strength of her voice. Iraqi composer Talib Al-Qara Gholi composed her first songs.
Aside from singing shaabi music, Adiba also released contemporary pop songs, and actively performed concerts inside Iraq until the beginning of the American occupation, when her artistic activity stopped. She chose to stay inside her country during the duration of the wars. This recording is from the early 2000s, and is one of the last records she sang, although she continues to appear in interviews on new Iraqi Media.
