This recording from the 1990s combines vocalist Walid al-Salhani (Abu Adnan) with the Rifai Band in a live performance of Sufi Rifai Hadra in the city of Damascus.
Haḍra is a collective supererogatory ritual performed by Sufi orders.
Walid Al-Salhani is one of the most famous religious chanters of Damascus, from the Al-Salhiya neighborhood.
All available recordings of Al-Salhani, were recorded during live performances. His career spanned more than thirty years, which he dedicated to performing Sufi Hadra, praises to the Prophet and mawal. He passed away in September, 2021.
