Faisal Al-Ahmad began singing at the end of the nineties, writing and composing his own material. He recorded several full length albums over the years, including “Farewell” in 1999, which is said to have been released following the death of his only son that year. On this album and in others, Al-Ahmad's ability to perform the Aleppan mawal is demonstrated with his strong and able voice. Despite this, he has spent most of his career performing shaabi and dabke songs in clubs and parties. Al-Ahmad resides in the city of Aleppo to this day, where he continues to offer his services to perform at private parties.
