Youssef Barhoum's talent became evident at a young age, with his skillful mawal and attaba performances. He swiftly gained popularity in his hometown of Masyaf in Hama and in neighboring regions, playing numerous concerts and weddings. His career came to an tragic and abrupt end as a result of a traffic accident at the age of 21. His name remains engraved in the minds of attaba lovers in the region. This is one of his few recordings.
