More Info

Though this cassette features a photo of Sabah Fakhri on the cover, once the singing begins, we realize it’s the voice of a completely different singer paying homage to the master. Though we don’t yet know the identity of the singer, it is a unique collection of songs, exemplifying the city of Aleppos’ rich musical heritage. Songs such as Mouwashah Yamur Ajaban by one of Aleppo's most important composers, Omar Al-Batsh, as well as Mouwashah Isqi el Itash, a song whose original melody dates back more than 300 years.
